Each symbol is a combination of a square, a triangle and a circle.
The black tip in each symbol marks a certain angle within the symbol.
The top position is the 0° position and the angle increases clockwise.
One complete rotation is 360°.
The solution is easier to explane if we let start the sequence at
symbol 8 and let it end at symbol 1.
Then the following angles are shown, backwards from symbol 8 to symbol 1:
square: 45° - 45° - 90° - 90° - 135° - 135° - 180° - 180°
=> rule: +45° every second symbol
triangle: 60° - 180° - 360° - 700° (240°) - 1000° (180°) - 1360° (180°) - 1800° (240°) - 2280° (0°)
=> rule: rotation angle is increased by 60° compared to the angle before:
+120°, +180°, +240°,+300°, +360°, +420°, +480°,
the values in parenthesis are the resulting angles
circle: 30° - 90° - 180° - 300° - 450° (90°) - 630° (270°) - 840° (120°) - 1110° (30°)
=> rule: rotation angle is increased by 30° compared to the angle before:
+60°, +90°, +120°,+150°, +180°, +210°, +270°,
the values in parenthesis are the resulting angles
The last angle is wrong, the correct angle would be 1080° (0°), which is +240°
The order/size of the symbol is based by the angle. The symbol with the smallest angle is always the
biggest/outside and the one with the biggest angle has the smallest size/inside.
The colors are following a regular pattern.
